Know Your Gym

Here is some important information that will help you get the most out of your membership!

  • How do I get a membership/join Icon Fitness?
    Getting a membership is easy! Memberships can be purchased at Icon Fitness. Please bring your pre-authorized payment information with you. This can be easily located on your personal banking mobile app, online banking, or simply bring a void cheque.
  • What's available at Icon Fitness?
    In addition to a variety cardio equipment, strength training equipment and a large free weight area (5 lb to 100 lb dumbbells), Icon Fitness also features a Circuit and Functional Workout Area. During staffed hours additional amenities are also available including tanning and cooler drinks.
  • How do I cancel my membership?
    To request cancellation you will need a Mindbody Password, if you don't already have one, please click here. You may request cancellation using our self-serve kiosk located near the front desk, this is available 24/7 for your convenience. We require at least 7 days' notice to cancel your membership. If you purchased a 3, 6, or 12 month Paid in Full membership, your membership is non-refundable.
  • Can I transfer my membership to someone?
    At this time our memberships are non-transferable.
  • Can I pause or put my membership on freeze (hold)?
    At this time, Icon Fitness does not offer membership freezes.
  • How old do I have to be to join Icon Fitness?
    A new member needs to be 18 years of age or older to join or workout at Icon Fitness.
  • What if I forget or lose my key fob?
    Your key fob is always required to enter the gym. If your card has been lost/stolen, a new card can be purchased during staffed hours for $25 + applicable taxes.
  • What are your membership options?
    We offer a no commitment membership or paid in full memberships to fit your budget and lifestyle. You can also purchase a single-use guest pass for $15+ applicable taxes (during staffed hours only).
  • Does Icon Fitness offer short-term memberships?
    Great news! All memberships (with the exception of the 3, 6, or 12 month Paid in Full) are no-commitment! That means you can join Icon Fitness for however long you wish and cancel anytime. Please note we do require 7 day's notice for cancellations.
  • What do I need to sign up?
    Depending on the type of membership payment you choose, Paid-in-Full or Preauthorized-Payment, your payment type will vary. For a Paid-in-Full membership, you can pay with Credit, Debit, or INTERAC. For a Preauthorized Payment (No-Commitment) membership, you will need your banking information (shown below) to set up automatic payment withdrawals (pre-authorized payments).
  • I have a balance owing on my account, how can I make this payment?
    If you're looking to pay a balance owing please call or come in and speak with a staff member during staffed hours.
  • Do you have showers?
    Yes!
  • What do I need to use the tanning booth?
    All tanners must: have a tanning membership, be 18 or over, follow SMART Tanning Guidelines, wear tanning goggles every time they tan, and space their sessions at least 24 hours apart. Eye protection is required and available for purchase. Tanning is only available during staffed hours.
  • Do you have water fountains?
    Yes! Bring your water bottle to stay hydrated throughout your workout. You can also purchase cooler drinks during staffed hours.
  • Is there a women's only section?
    We do not ahave a women's only section, however, we heavily value a no judgement environment so everyone can feel comfortable when they're working out!
  • Is Personal Training Available?
    Icon Fitness offers Personal Training at an additional cost to your Membership. Please speak with a staff member for details.
  • Where can I put my personal belongings during my workout?
    Please feel free to use our lockers during your workout ONLY, we just ask that you provide your own lock! Please note that any items left over night will be removed.
  • What's the Circut?
    This is a circuit designed to give you the ultimate full body workout! The machines in the circuit are labeled and detailed with what muscle is being worked, as well as how to use the machine.
  • Does Icon Fitness offer classes?
    Icon Fitness does not offer fitness classes but we have an easy to use Circuit to guide you through a full body workout.
  • Does Icon Fitness offer child minding?
    At this time, Icon Fitness does not offer child minding.
  • Can I work out on holidays?
    We are open 24/7 therefore, you will be able to workout on holidays, however, the club will be unstaffed.
  • How do I check in?
    Our front door is always locked. To check in, simply scan your fob and the door will unlock, that's it! Each visit, you'll be required to scan your membership card to enter. Please do not hold door open for others. If you are coming to sign up, please ring the door bell and we will be happy to assist you.
  • Do I need to bring my fob every time?
    Your key fob is always required to enter the gym. It unlocks the front door and grants you access to the gym!
  • Can I get a tour before I commit to signing up?
    Absolutely! Please visit us during staffed hours and ask staff if they can give you a tour.
  • Can I bring a friend to workout?
    If you'd like to bring a friend who's not a member, they will need to be 18 or older and they need to create a profile and sign the waiver using the self-serve kiosk. The Member must purchase a Guest Pass for their Guest using our self-serve kiosk located near the front desk, this is available 24/7 for your convenience.
  • Can I get a free trial before signing up?
    Want to make sure Icon Fitness is right for you before you sign up for a membership? Then come in and sign up for our complimentary 7 Day Trial! Key fob purchase is required ($15+HST).
  • What do you use to clean Icon Fitness?
    For the safety of staff and members, our gym is cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectant.
  • What safety measures do you have in place?
    Icon Fitness is equipped with surveillance cameras. All public spaces are captured and video footage can be reviewed if an incident occurs.
  • What should I wear to work out?
    We are a no judgement gym, so wear what makes you feel good, and the people around you feel comfortable. Shoes, tops, such as t-shirts or tank tops, and bottoms, such as shorts or workout pants, are required. Comfortable, breathable clothing and indoor running shoes are a good place to start. We recommend that you always bring a lock for use of our lockers, a water bottle to hydrate, and a towel for drying off.
  • Can I take pictures or record during my workout?
    You can, who doesn't love to share their gym progress! If you choose to snap a selfie or to send a Snap, we ask that you not capture other members on your camera due to privacy issues.
  • Do I need indoor shoes to workout?
    Absolutely! Not only will indoor shoes help you with your workout, it'll also help keep our gym clean! Please remove street shoes upon entering the gym and wear clean close-toed athletic footwear for your workout. Please feel free to use our lockers or shoe rack during your workout ONLY to store your outdoor shoes. * Items left overnight will be removed.
  • Can I use chalk in the weight area?
    We ask you not to use chalk because of any possible allergies of other people in the club, and our commitment to keeping our gym clean and allergen-free.
  • What is your policy regarding abuse of any kind in the gym?
    We believe in creating a welcoming, safe and no judgement environment for our members, guests and staff. Icon Fitness will not tolerate violence, physical aggression, discrimination, harassment or verbal abuse towards our staff. Icon Fitness reserves the right to cancel memberships if any of the above behaviour is observed, toward anyone in our gym Please treat everyone with respect and dignity.
